Siblings caught red-handed lifting a television off a wall inside the women's room of sports bar in Springfield, Massachusetts, tried to lie their way out of jail time by claiming they couldn't have been stealing the TV as they were too busy having sex with each other.

A female patron of Samuel's Sports Bar overheard Robert Larrivee and his sister Amanda tearing the television from the wall of the restroom and ran to inform the manager.

The duo was subsequently locked inside and the police were alerted to a crime in progress.

However, despite being caught mid-theft, the low-rent Bonnie and Clyde refused to come clean, telling officers they were just having sex.

Further questioning revealed that they were related.

The two were charged with larceny over $250, and Mr. Larrivee was booked on an additional charge of threatening to commit a crime for threatening to assault an officer.

UPDATE: Amanda Larrivee told The Republican it was her brother who made the sex remark and she "immediately refuted his claim."

She further says neither she nor her brother were trying to steal the TV — Robert was merely "fiddling" with it in anger over a bad break-up.

Charges against Amanda were quickly dropped, and her brother's larceny charge will be reduced to "destruction of property."
