This Daring Baby Elephant Rescue Will Make You Weep Like a Baby Human
A team of conservationists from the Kenya-based Amboseli Trust for Elephants received a call last week of a baby elephant that had fallen into a well.
The hole was too deep for the eight-month-old calf to climb out of on its own, and its mother was unable to help.
"Luckily the report came in early in the morning and we were able to get there quick before the mother was forced to leave by herders arriving to water their cattle," writes an ATE team member. "It was a happy ending as we were able to reunite the calf with her mother, Zombe."
