No Babies Allowed: Asian Airline Introduces 'Quiet Zone' for Passengers Interested in Infant-Free Flight
A low-cost airline based out of Southeast Asia has announced plans to introduce specially designated "quiet zones" that will be made available exclusively "for guests age 12 and above."
At no extra cost — imagine that! — AirAsia economy class passengers aboard long-haul flights can enjoy a smooth, baby-free journey to their destination of choice.
The "quiet zone" is separated from the "kindergarten class" by bulkheads and lavatories, but since it isn't hermetically sealed, some crying could still leak in from outside.
Also, should it be "necessary for operational, safety or security reasons," the airline could seat under-12 passengers in the quiet zone.
Still, it's a step up from doing nothing.
