Barack Obama sat down with David Letterman today, and while they talked about more than politics, what everyone really wants to know is how Obama responded to the hidden camera videos of Romney that went viral yesterday.

While the campaign has already released an ad in response, this was the first time Obama made any statement directly.

My expectation is that if you want to be president, you have to work for everyone, not just for some ... One thing I've learned as president is that you represent the entire country.

Obama also said he wasn't exactly sure what Romney was talking about when he alluded to the "47 percent."

There are not a lot of people out there who think they are victims.

The President did admit that people make mistakes during presidential campaigns, citing 2008 audio from one of Obama's private fundraisers in which he said some rural voters "cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them."

The unspoken difference, of course, being that Obama's comments — while politically damaging at the time — were true.
