Al Roker tweeted this video of a possible tornado in Queens' Breezy Point.
Firefighters are responding to the incident, which is still only a "possible tornado strike."
Meanwhile, a tornado watch is in effect for Long Island. National Weather Service meteorologist David Stark warned residents to take this seriously.
The threat is there and it's something we'll be keeping an eye on over the next few hours. Things could change very rapidly into the evening.
He also advised securing your outdoor furniture.
And then maybe stay inside, as the approaching storm could bring quarter-sized hail.
