Kate Bush wasn't the only one snubbed by NBC's edit of last night's closing ceremony of the London Olympics. The Who's phenomenal medley of "Baba O'Riley," "See Me, Feel Me," "Listening to You" and "My Generation" was broadcast separate from the rest of the closing ceremony, so that NBC could insert preview of its Animal Practice in between. Cheap stuff, but hey, that's America. And that's not all: Muse's and Ray Davies' performances weren't aired at all. So we have those for you, too.

Here's Ray Davies (formerly of the Kinks) doing 1967's "Waterloo Sunset." It's a song specifically about London. Maybe they figured it was too British for Yankee ears. (We reached out to NBC for a comment on the omissions, but as of posting time have yet to hear back.)

In maybe the most egregious omission, Muse performed the official fucking song of the London Olympics, "Survival," but didn't make the cut. Not even the band's Twilight association was enough to get them on this thing in the U.S. It's a shame because this performance is operatic and over-the-top — definitive ceremony.
