Matrix Filmmaker Formerly Known as Larry Wachowski Makes First Public Appearance as Lana
The woman formerly known as Larry Wachowski made her first public appearance as Lana in a promo for the film Cloud Atlas, which she helmed with brother/collaborator Andy and Run Lola Run director Tom Tykwer.
The 47-year-old filmmaker reportedly began her transition ten years ago, following a separation from then-wife Thea Bloom.
"The first major Hollywood director to publicly come out as transgender," per the Huffington Post, Lana's latest film, an adaptation of David Mitchell's award-winning novel, will be released October 26th.
