A 28-year-old Maryland man who was on the cusp of being fired from his job at Pitney Bowes allegedly planned to attack his workplace with assault weapons, police in Maryland announced today.

Neil Prescott was arrested yesterday after reportedly making multiple threats to harm employees of the software and mailing supplies company. "I am a joker and I'm gonna load my guns and blow everybody up," said Prescott according to police documents.

A search of his Crofton home turned up over 20 assault rifles and handguns, as well as hundreds of rounds of ammo. Police sources told local ABC affiliate WJLA that Prescott was "prepared to act on his threat" and that this "could have been another Aurora."

A spokeswoman for Pitney Bowes told the Associated Press that Prescott was employed by a subcontractor and "had not been on any Pitney Bowes property in more than four months."

Prescott, who greeted police with a T-shirt that read "guns don't kill people, I do," is currently undergoing a psychological evaluation at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis.
