Man Saves Self from Seeing Nickelback Concert by Falling into 40-Foot Gorge
An upstate New York man had to be rescued by firefighters after falling 40-feet down a gorge while attempting to sneak inside the Saratoga Performing Arts Center to see Nickelback in concert.
22-year-old Kevin Beaudette of Tupper Lake is fine, if slightly embarrassed, after taking a serious tumble into Geyser Brook Gorge Tuesday night.
"Last evening an individual who appeared to be intoxicated, and who was outside the venue, apparently lost his footing and slipped down the embankment that runs along SPAC's Route 50 parking lot," the center's president, Marcia White, said in a statement.
The local fire department was called to pull Beaudette out and take him to the Albany Medical Center Hospital where he was treated for minor cuts and bruises and released.
Meanwhile, inside SPAC, Nickelback was "whip[ping] even the most stoic crowd into frenzy" with a t-shirt gun and free alcohol.
