Armless Guitarist Proves Things Are Only Impossible if You Want Them to Be
18-year-old George Dennehy, a one-man inspiration band, performs a cover of the Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris" at the annual Ashland Strawberry Faire.
Recipient of the 2012 Tafi Yourtee Scholarship — given every year to four high school students "planning to major in one of the performing arts" — Dennehy, an Ashland, Virginia, was born without arms, but that hasn't stopped him from mastering a wide range of musical instruments, including the guitar, the cello, the piano, and the drums.
At a recent Reddit AMA, Dennehy said he hopes to "inspire people that they can do whatever they want when their mind is set to the task! All it takes is heart, soul, and passion to do what you want to do."
