Run-D.M.C. Announce to Reunite After Decade-Long Hiatus
Legendary hip hop group Run-D.M.C. will reunite this November to headline the annual Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Texas.
Joseph "Rev. Run" Simmons and Darryl "DMC" McDaniels split up and retired the Run-D.M.C. moniker in 2002 after the group's DJ, Jason William "Jam Master Jay" Mizell, was shot and killed in a Queens recording studio.
In addition to the duo's reunion show, D.M.C. is also scheduled to perform tracks from his upcoming solo album.
Other acts confirmed for the fest include Against Me!, Bob Mould, Rakim, Lagwagon, Baroness, and Black Moth Super Rainbow. A portion of the event proceeds will be donated to the JMJ Foundation for Music.
