Academy Award-Winning Actor Ernest Borgnine Dies at 95
The Associated Press reports that veteran actor Ernest Borgnine has died at 95.
Borgnine's most famous roles include Quinton McHale on the TV series McHale's Navy, and the titular role in Marty, for which he earned an Academy Award in 1955. He also starred in The Wild Bunch, The Poseidon Adventure, and Bad Day at Black Rock.
Borgnine frequently worked in TV, making guest appearances on several shows, and earning an Emmy nomination at 92 for his work on ER. Younger audiences may recognize him as the voice of Mermaid Man on SpongeBob SquarePants.
