English Village Hosts Russian Egg Roulette World Championships
The World Egg Throwing Federation — which is a very real thing — held its seventh World Egg Throwing Championships in the Lincolnshire village of Swaton last Sunday, and a jolly good egg-throwing time was had by all.
A highlight of the annual event is the World Russian Egg Roulette championship — a no-holds-barred, winner-take-all "trial of nerves" that pits one egg enthusiast against another. The rules are simple: 6 eggs in the carton — five hard-boiled, one raw. Pick your egg-shaped bullet and smash it against your forehead. Get egg on your face and you're out.
This year's winner was Jerry Cullen, whose mother must be very proud.
