The good news about Sheryl Crow's brain tumor is that it's benign. The bad news is that it might be affecting her memory.

Last month while performing in Florida, Crow forgot part of the song "Soak Up the Sun." "My brain's gone to shit," she joked — but she was concerned enough to get an MRI.

In an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal's Doug Elfman, Crow revealed the news she got last November.

I worried about my memory so much that I went and got an MRI. And I found out I have a brain tumor. And I was, like, "See? I knew there was something wrong."

According to Crow, the tumor is benign, "so I don't have to worry about it."

Crow's rep Christine Wolff elaborated, explaining that the tumor is meningioma, which is usually benign. Crow is reportedly "healthy and happy."

But was there really a connection between the brain tumor and forgetting the lyrics? Dr. Anders Cohen, Chief of Neurosurgery and Spine Surgery at the Brooklyn Hospital Center, says it's possible.

Ms. Crow speaks about memory issues, and that is definitely the kind of symptom that could be caused by this type of tumor. We usually don't remove benign tumors unless they are sizable or cause symptoms.

On the plus side, those of us who still remember all the lyrics to '90s pop hits can now consider that a sign of good health.
