Greatest Samaritan Ever Donates Entire Kmart to Charity
A Kentucky-based jeweller looking to earn some emergency karma came up with a get-clean-quick scheme while shopping at a local liquidating Kmart.
Learning that all unsold inventory will be made available to so-called "power buyers" at a reduced price, Rankin Paynter joined the program, and subsequently purchased every item in the store.
All told, Paynter has some 200,000 dollars worth of stuff which he immediately handed over to Clark County Community Services.
"What I see is people coming in my store, needy people sell their stuff," he told the LEX 18. "It's bad nowadays. I just told (the clerk) lets just give it away to charity."
