About three years after its originally scheduled release, Baltimore rapper Rye Rye's debut album, Go! Pop! Bang!, has at last been released. It's a hoot that sometimes skews a little too close to radio trance, but otherwise has the ability to tease wild things out of her collaborators like Bangladesh — the dude who produced Lil Wayne's "A Milli" flips into full-on dance mode with Rye Rye.

And speaking of dance mode, "Dance" is my favorite track on the album — you can't tell so much in the live version posted above (I couldn't find a full, embeddable stream, but here's a snippet of the studio version) but the snare/horns combo are just out of sync enough to sound like a drumline that's going a little too fast because half of its members are fucked up. For her part, Rye Rye sounds sober. She's as committed to freaking dance beats as any MC working today.
