While Ron Paul still hasn't dropped out (technically), he is going to stop spending money campaigning. But while Paul is backing off, he hopes his supporters will continue to raise hell.

In an email sent today, Paul explained why he would no longer continue on the campaign trail.

Moving forward, however, we will no longer spend resources campaigning in primaries in states that have not yet voted. Doing so with any hope of success would take many tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have. I encourage all supporters of liberty to make sure you get to the polls and make your voices heard, particularly in the local, state and congressional elections, where so many defenders of freedom are fighting and need your support.

Much to no one's surprise, Paul did not include an endorsement for presumptive Republican candidate Mitt Romney.

As Politico notes, Paul supporters have been especially vocal recently — on Saturday, they booed Romney's son Josh off the stage in Arizona. Although Paul's email encourages his followers to keep fighting, his campaign manager Jesse Benton insists that, "Respect and decorum are very important to Dr. Paul."

It is unclear where Paul's supporters will flock next. The same Politico article references a Public Policy Polling national survey that suggests Paul fans have an equal distaste for Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.

Sadly for those who want Ron Paul around, the Texas Representative is retiring from the House at the end of this year. But hey, Paul's son Rand continues to make noise. Fingers crossed for Rand Paul's 2016 presidential run?
