Peter Berg was recently in Israel to promote his upcoming/recently released big-screen adaption of the Milton Bradley board game Battleship. As it turns out, the half-Jewish auteur has some pretty strong opinions about the whole Israel and Iran being on the precipice of starting World War III thing.

During an interview with Israel's Channel 10, Berg sets aside any questions not related to Iran and its nuclear weapons capability, which he says is "the most serious issue facing our planet today — more so than the movie Battleship," before excoriating dazed interviewer Jason Danino-Holt for not serving in the IDF.

For what it's worth, Danino-Holt told YNet in 2005 that he was exempted from mandatory service due to health problems. Somehow I get the feeling that telling Berg would only have elicited a snide remark about rubbing some Gold Bond on it and manning up.
