The TSA agents Monday stopped a man from bringing a disassembled .40-caliber firearm and ammo aboard a plane bound for Detroit.

Transportation Security Officers at Rhode Island's T. F. Green International Airport found the gun parts stuffed inside a teddy bear, bunny rabbit, and Mickey Mouse doll put on the checkpoint's conveyor belt by the man's 4-year-old son. He later told police the parts were inside the toys.

"It appears to be the result of a domestic dispute," said Rhode Island Airport Police Chief Leo Messier, but would not elaborate.

Officers concluded that "there was no threat at any time to air safety," and allowed the man and his son to continue on their way after confiscating the weapon.
