Accompanied by fourth wife Kayte Walsh, a "casually dressed" Kelsey Grammer walked into a tattoo parlor located in Chicago's West Town this past Saturday to get his first taste of ink.

Grammer, who plays fictional Chicago mayor Tom Kane on the Starz TV series Boss, sought a tat of Walsh's name, but first had to get past the 21-year-old front counter employee who failed to identify the actor.

"Can I get your ID, please?," Insight Studios owner Bob Jones recalled the unnamed worker asking. "She came back to me and said, ‘Is this guy famous or something? He looked at me kind of funny when I asked for his ID.'"

Grammer eventually settled on a small stylized etching of Walsh's first name, to be placed on his hip. At $60, it was the cheapest tat money could buy at Insight.

Christine Darbo, the 72-year-old grandmother of Grammer's tattoo artist, James Eastwood, spoke with the star and his wife prior to the inking, and thought the couple was "fun," "very friendly" and "into each other." Still, she thought Grammer, "with his background," should "just put a ‘K' with a period to give him some flexibility."
