If You Stole Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' Guitars, Kindly Return Them Right Now (UPDATE)
Tom Petty had his heart broken last week when he discovered several vintage guitars had been stolen from the The Culver Studios soundstage in Culver City where he and the Heartbreakers had been rehersing ahead of their 2012 North America-Europe tour, scheduled to launch this Wednesday.
Among the missing guitars, Petty's signature Rickenbacker, which the LA Times credits with "defin[ing] the Heartbreakers' sound."
"Sometimes people make mistakes," Petty tweeted on Friday, "but we'd like these back. No questions asked." The band is offering a $7,500 reward for the safe return of their musical instruments.
