Bears, Beets, Bad Ideas: The Office May Be Rebooted With New Cast Of Characters
NBC's The Office may be terminally ill as far as longtime fans are concerned, but the network isn't quite ready to pull the plug just yet.
In fact, executive producer Greg Daniels is said to be mulling the possibility of bringing in brand new cast members for a series reboot.
Regulars John Krasinski (Jim), Jenna Fischer (Pam), B.J. Novak (Ryan), and Ed Helms (Andy), could be leaving the show by the end of the current season if their contracts aren't renewed, and negotiations are reportedly at a standstill. Rainn Wilson is inching ever closer to the exit following the announcement that his character, Dwight, will be getting his own spinoff.
The show itself has yet to be picked up for an additional season, but Deadline says NBC is considering as many as two more turns.
