Charles Manson Denied Parole, Probably For The Last Time
Famed psycho-cum-underrated musician Charles Manson was denied parole today for the 12th time, making it highly likely that he will expire in prison.
Manson, who is incarcerated in California, hasn't attended any of his parole hearings since 1997. He claims to be a "political prisoner." His attorney, DeJon R. Lewis, said earlier that he believes Manson should be hospitalized, not incarcerated. The Los Angeles County district attorney's office disagreed, saying through a spokeswoman it will continue to oppose Manson's release on the grounds that he remains a viable threat.
His next hearing is scheduled for 2027, so unless he manages to live to be 92 or is put in criminal cryogenic storage like in Demolition Man, today was likely his last chance to get out.
