A radical overseas website linked to terror organizations posted the unsettling image of the New York City skyline and the text "Al Qaeda Coming Soon Again in New York." What's almost as disturbing as the threat is the eye-grabbing design.

Both the NYPD and the FBI are investigating.

"The FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force is aware of the posting and investigating its authenticity and origin," said J. Peter Donald. "The FBI takes all threats seriously and at his time there is no specific or credible threat to New York."

While it's unclear who created the graphic, it's ostensibly meant to be taken seriously. The image has spread to other extremist sites since it was first posted.

Was this designed by a single bored terrorist with too much time on his hands, or does Al Qaeda have a sick sense of humor? Either way, it's fucked-up — but it's an aesthetically pleasing fucked-up.
