Not Trending In Park Slope: Fat, Ice Cream Loving Kids
Aggrieved Prospect Park parents took to their computers to vent about spring's criminal mastermind: the ice cream man. In an effort to make sure that Park Slope is free of anything resembling kids acting like normal kids, the moms are on a mission to get the vendors—and their loathsome treats— out of the park.
One mother details her harrowing experience with a whiny child:
Along with the first truly beautiful day of the year, my son and I had our first ruined day at the playground...Two different people came into the actual playground with ice cream/Italian ice push carts. I was able to avoid it for a little while but eventually I left with a crying 4-year-old.
No longer willing to watch helplessly as their children fall victim to the siren-song of the ice cream man, these mothers are taking a stand. "I should not have to fight with my children every warm day on the playground just so someone can make a living!" chimes in Dorothy Scanlan on the thread. Ice cream vendors looking to "make a living" in Prospect Park are advised to proceed cautiously, these women will pry each and every last popsicle from the hands of anyone who stands in their way.
The whole thing begs the question: Did everyone who ever joined an online forum start out crazy?
