Ron Paul to Santorum: "WTF?"
Yesterday, Republican maybe-frontrunner Rick Santorum made minor waves by repeating allegations that his opponents Mitt Romney and Ron Paul were in cahoots.
The coordination that I felt at that [Arizona] debate was pretty clear. I felt like messages were being slipped behind my chair. It's pretty remarkable that in 20 debates, Ron Paul never attacked Mitt Romney.
While it's not the first time Santorum has suggested a "backroom deal," Paul is still eager to refute the accusation as crazy talk.
"I don't know what all that meant," Paul chuckled backstage of a rally he held here at Central Michigan University. "No, we've never had a conversation, anything like that ... but he's a family person, I've known him for five years, so it is a little bit different. But I don't agree with [him on] hardly anything, probably."
According to Paul, these attacks against Romney and himself indicate that Santorum is "desperate." And them's fighting words, so we'll have to wait and see what Santorum fires back. Meanwhile, Paul is currently polling third in Michigan, behind Romney and Santorum. When asked about his chances, Paul said, "I feel good, but I'm realistic," then returned to another meeting of the We Hate Rick Santorum Club: No Girls Allowed.
Actually, that can't be verified.
