A Stealthy Inmate Added a Pig to the Vermont State Troopers' Squad Cars
The prisoners working out of a St. Albans, Vt. shop that produces car decals and license plates successfully sneaked a small outline of a pig onto the official crest that adorns every trooper car in the state. The heifer now has a pig as a spot.
No, this is not some leaked plot line to the Super Troopers sequel that will never happen; this is real life, and it is brilliant. Vermont Public Safety Commissioner Keith Flynn told the Burlington Free Press that "about three dozen" of the redesigned decals are now on trooper cars and—this being Vermont, my dear home state—no one is even remotely mad about it:
The disclosure brought chuckles to both Flynn and Senate President Pro Tempore John Campbell, D-Windsor, who are both former police officers.
"This is not as offensive as it would have been years ago. We can see the humor," Flynn said.
But there's always room for some stern moralizing from the system, isn't there?
"If that person had used some of that creativeness," Flynn added, "he or she would not have ended up inside."
