Here's some news relevant to all you reading this article on your iPad while simultaneously texting your spouse and driving 90 mph on the interstate. The National Transportation Safety Board has voted to recommend banning the use of all cell phones—even hands-free ones!—while driving.

Currently 35 states ban texting-while-driving, though many allow hands-free cell phone talking, even though studies have shown it's no safer (and certainly douchier-looking) to use a bluetooth earpiece than a regular old cell phone.

In endorsing the ban, NTSB Chairman Deborah A.P. Hersman said "No call, no text, no update is worth a human life." Even this fantastic blog post isn't worth a human life, so stop reading and pay attention to the goddamn road. (Though feel free to run over a few squirrels.) [NYT, Image via Shutterstock]
