Some of Your Favorite Entertainment Writers Just Lost Their Jobs
Doing its part to ensure that America's population of talented, unemployed writers and editors continues to grow, Yahoo shut down four of its entertainment websites yesterday: The Projector (movies), The Set (TV), The Amplifier (music), and The Famous (celebrity gossip). RIP, blogs and jobs.
Among the casualties are Deadspin founder Will Leitch (who ran the Projector with his lifelong friend Tim Grierson), former (and first) Defamer editor Mark Lisanti, and Jezebel contributor Lindsay Robertson. Yahoo claims its entertainment coverage will not be negatively impacted by the layoffs, but that's hard to fathom given the talent the company is about to lose. We hope everyone lands on their feet soon. [Reuters. Image via AP]
