It is America's finest annual tradition: The President of the United States, making small talk with wild animals instead of simply slaughtering them.

This year's turkey-pardoning ceremony was held this morning at the White House, and the small talk was... you know, good! You can't actually screw up small talk with an animal:

Obama jokingly cast his pardon as yet another of his "We Can't Wait" initiatives. "Recently, I've been taking a series of executive actions that don't require congressional approval," the president said. "Well, here's another one. We can't wait to pardon these turkeys."

Sure, that's good enough. But naturally Obama couldn't get through the whole thing without devolving into his beloved Class Warfare:

In a more sober tone, Obama called on Americans to remember the meaning of Thanksgiving and to be mindful of those who have less.

This guy just does not know when to stop.
