Eleven of the students who were pepper-sprayed in the face during last weekend's notable UC Davis meme were treated for the effects, but now UC Davis says they're paying all medical costs. Very considerate!

Meanwhile, Chancellor Linda Katehi said the police were going against her wishes by so brutally clearing out protesters.

"We told the police to remove the tents or the equipment," she told Sacramento Bee. "We told them very specifically to do it peacefully, and if there were too many of them, not to do it, if the students were aggressive, not to do it." Maybe the cops should have just drum-circled protesters away.

I don't know, it seems like paying these kids' medical bills for treatment you caused is getting off a little easy, especially considering the civil rights lawsuits UC Davis can expect. They should all get free meals at the student cafeteria, plus one keg of bud light per annum, for the rest of their college career.
