Cop Cheats Death in Extremely Gutsy Way
When NYPD Sgt. Michael Miller found himself at the end of a .38 caliber revolver the other night, he just stuck his ring finger right in there, between the hammer and cylinder, and prevented the gunman from shooting him in the gut.
Still broke his finger, though. "I could feel a really sharp burning pain in my finger, kind of like my nail was being bent back," Miller told the New York Times. His fast moves stunned the assailant, who asked him "how in the heck" he moved so quickly. Miller responded, "here, hold your gun up to my gut again and I'll show you," and then demonstrated his technique. The assailant has been charged with attempted murder of a police officer and several other crimes, but at least he learned something new about self-defense. [NYT. Image via Shutterstock]
