When Gawker started experiencing technical issues yesterday, we thought Anonymous might have snuck into our server room and poured Doritos into all the machines. Well, it turns out lots of big websites had outages yesterday.

According to MSNBC, a long list of sites including Facebook, Gmail and NYTimes.com—and MSNBC.com itself—went down briefly yesterday. Could it be that everyone obsessively refreshing and sharing news of Apple's new walkie talkie overloaded the entire internet? If so, the internet totally got what it deserves.
