Joe Biden's Confusing Occupy Wall Street Interview
Joe Biden has finally chimed in on Occupy Wall Street! Mostly by confusing it with a Van Jones-led conference in D.C. and then not knowing that Van Jones, the former White House "green jobs czar," used to work for him. Perhaps it's time for a little "What's Going On With The Left" clarification session.
Biden was doing a radio interview for WFLA when the hosts asked him about "the Van Jones organization of the Occupy Wall Street group which is supposedly counter to the Tea Party." Okay, so the confusion is built in! Then things get worse (via Raw Story):
"I really don't know about the Van Jones group, except what I read in the press," Biden said. "I don't disrespect the tea party. I think the tea party and the Van Jones folks are different halves of the same concern."
Biden continued: "You have on one end Van Jones's guys, whoever he is, talking about Wall Street."
Suddenly, both Harris and his co-host Tedd Webb laughed and reminded Biden that Jones was the "Green czar" in the administration.
"Oh, is that… alright," Biden replied.
So, he never knew that Van Jones worked for his administration, which he did, until he was forced to resign following Glenn Beck's discovery that he signed some 9/11 Truther petition many years ago. But Van Jones isn't the organizer behind Occupy Wall Street. He's the organizer of Rebuild the Dream, a progressive movement that's co-sponsoring this week's three-day "Take Back the American Dream" conference in Washington D.C. along with the Campaign for America's Future. Occupy Wall Street is merely a hot topic of conversation at the Take Back the American Dream conference. So that's What's Going On With The Left! Quiz in the morning.
