Anderson Cooper probably woke up this morning thinking he'd only be on two television shows by the end of the day. But then the opportunity came along to appear on a third program—and promote his new daytime talk show in the process—and he couldn't resist.

Cooper appeared as a guest on tonight's Late Show and spent most of the time discussing real world issues like events in the Middle East. Except for the last minute or so when David Letterman asked Cooper about being "the new Oprah" and then expressed bitterness that he's yet to receive an invitation to appear on Anderson.
