In all seriousness, maybe this will raise awareness to what absolute menaces to society elderly drivers can be. I'm not saying that they all are, but a few years back, an 84-year-old man killed 13 people after plowing into a farmer's market (also in Santa Monica), and he never served a day in jail. He probably still has his license.
Thanks to various old peoples' lobbying groups, the requirements for drivers' license renewals are generally far laxer than they should be.
I'm going to agree with you until such time that I am also 83.
My mind went to George Weller immediately on reading this blurb. He was 86 when he mowed more than 60 people down, got out of the car and said "If you saw me coming, why didn't you get out of the way?".
I don't disagree with you, really, but my grandfather, who is in his 80s, was recently hit by a 20-year-old who ran a red light. He was thrown ten feet through the air, into the side of a truck, and broke nearly every bone in his body. There were basically no consequences for the girl who hit him.
Hopefully she's at least paying for his medical expenses? If she was at fault, shouldn't she at least have some sort of demerit on her license?
Old bag hits old news. Ends up in a storage facility around Barstow. Preserved for eternity like Moon Landing and Elvis clippings.
Talk about a bad day. First she gets hit by a car, then she gets thrown under a bus. Hope she has a few oxy's.
Someone somewhere will get this...
I hope you'll explain it eventually if no one else gets it.
He has hated her for years. Spends hours and hours at lectures and smodcasts talking about how much he strongly dislikes her. It stems from something like 15 years ago when Reese was a bitch to his then muse, Joey Lauren Adams. I'm sure Reese hasn't given a thought about Kevin Smith in years, but he simply does not let it go.
Having seen his subtly excoriating interpretation of Prince's life in Paisley Park, I can only imagine.
I got it.
As someone who was recently hit by a car and received 'minor injuries' they can be horrible. Cookie for Reese.
No snark, that sucks. Hope you're doing well.
Now I feel bad. So I'm not going to make some lame joke about "leading with her chin."
I hope you feel better and have a speedy recovery.
All better now but I broke both bones in my wrist and had to have surgery. Four pegs, three screws, one metal plate and two months of not being able to use my right arm at all. Now I set off metal detectors. But I did get two months paid vacation. Thanks guy that hit me for having awesome insurance and being so obviously in the wrong that they offered me a settlement so I wouldn't sue!
Also, I broke my right wrist. I am so right handed its ridiculous. So I amused my friends and family the first couple of weeks by hitting myself in the face any time I tried to use a utensil to feed myself with my left hand. My family sucks. They kept making me soup.
I had my right hand in a cast for 6 months. I now eat left handed. Brushing teeth and toilet issues were the hardest
