Last week, Republicans complained about the date of President Obama's jobs speech to Congress and got the White House to move it to the next evening. The resolution of this conflict has allowed Republicans to move on — to making new excuses about why they won't show up anyway. One will be busy tweeting in his office! Another has to host a party. But really they all just hate Obama, which is fine.

Georgia Rep. Paul Broun, who enjoys him a good joke about shooting Barack Obama, infamously skipped out on the president's State of the Union this year to tweet imbecilic micro-diarrhea from his office. Why can't he show up this time around? Because he'll be busy doing the exact same childish thing again:

"Dr. Broun will not be attending President Obama's joint address, but he looks forward to hearing the president's proposal for job creation," Broun spokeswoman Meredith Griffanti [said]. "Dr. Broun will instead watch the speech from his office where he will host a live town hall via Twitter to interact with his constituents."

He literally could not hold a "Twitter town hall" at any other time! What can you do?

Prostitute fucker Sen. David Vitter, meanwhile, has to be in Louisiana to host a football-watchin' party at his House of Sin. He's just too crazy about that game, football! Oh, man:

Appearing on Power Play Live with Chris Stirewalt, Vitter called the President's address "more political speech that substantive" and said, "I have a Saints party...and I am absolutely going to be there for the big game, kick-off of the Saints and the whole NFL."

The Louisiana lawmaker acknowledged he would keep an eye on the President from his home, but added, "As a fanatic, I have my priorities."

Who else? Sen. Jim DeMint won't show up because he's "frustrated." Rep. Joe "Dad of the Year" Walsh refuses to go because the President is abusing his power, by giving a joint address to Congress to present his plan for the most pressing issue in the country. Ron Paul won't go because he can do anything he wants, and no one really misses him.

Usually the tradition is to just deal with it and show up. But you can always raise more money by going out of your way to be an asshole!
