Plane Above Wall Street: 'Thanks for the Downgrade. You Should All Be Fired'
It's always nice when an airplane articulates your thoughts for you—like the plane flying above Lower Manhattan today trailing a huge message: "THANKS FOR THE DOWNGRADE. YOU SHOULD ALL BE FIRED."
Alas! While we think everyone at Standard & Poor's should be fired for being a bunch of corrupt idiot lunatics, the advertisement (paid for by broker Lucy Nobbe) was actually directed at politicians. And not really even in an articulate way:
"She's not mad at S & P, she's mad at Washington D.C. She called me up to have me talk her out of it, and of course, I didn't," her friend noted, "because I think it's funny." [...] Is she of any particular political persuasion? "Nope," her friend notes. "Not really. It's directed at Washington. The Republicans, Democrats, President. Not at S & P."
Well, okay, we don't blame her for being mad at "Washington, D.C." We are too! But we're mad at Standard & Poor's also. Hey, Standard & Poor's: Thanks for the downgrade! You should all be fired! [NYO]
