CNN is reporting a possible armed man on Virginia Tech's campus, the site of the 2007 massacre that left 32 dead. The campus is on lockdown as police search for a man possibly carrying a handgun. The good news: Class isn't in session.

Here's the statement from Virginia Tech's website:

At 9:09 a.m., Three juveniles attending a camp at the university reported seeing a white male, 6 feet tall, with light brown hair outside of New Residence Hall East holding what may have been a handgun. They say the weapon was covered by a cloth or covering of some sort. He was walking fast in the direction of the volleyball courts. He was wearing a blue and white striped shirt (stripes were vertical), gray shorts and brown sandals. The subject had no facial hair or glasses.

Police haven't found anyone matching that description yet. Around 9:30, a statement went out to the campus telling everyone to stay inside and, according to WSLS, Virginia Tech will hold a press conference at 11 am to explain the situation.

Update: At the press conference, the head of Virginia Tech's police force said they have "not had any further reported sightings" of the person. "Officers are still continuing to patrol and look around the campus."
