There has never been a time when crazy shit wasn't happening on New York City subways; but what with all the cell phone cameras and salivating blog vultures out there now, videos of crazy shit happening on New York City subways are rapidly becoming the must-have accessory of the summer season.

Today, for a nation's amusement: a mentally ill man with a screwdriver forces his way into the conductor's booth on a 5 train and attempts to hijack the train. (The Daily News tells the full story here.) The uplifting part: passengers rush to the conductor's aid! The not-uplifting part: at least one passenger instead chose to just film the whole thing. And here we are! The "Person Filming Subway Violence Is Consumed by Said Subway Violence" video is bound to arrive by Labor Day.
