Well, we have two days for him to back out of it again, but former House Speaker and cuddly animal lover Newt Gingrich is launching a presidential campaign.

He'll make his Wednesday announcement on Facebook and Twitter, according to spokesperson Rick Tyler. In the mid-1990s, the last time Newt Gingrich was a meaningful politician, he would've been making this announcement on CompuServe. So much has changed over the years! Pretty much everything, except for Newt Gingrich's teen dream of becoming president.

Gingrich is running in the single-digits in early polls, and raised only $53,000 in the first quarter of 2011. What are you atheist Muslims waiting for? Cut the old man a check.
