On April 17th, gay blog Queerty abruptly announced it was closing, effective immediately. Well, it's back—with a new design, a new owner, and all the old gayness.

According to new owner Scott Gatz, CEO of "gay Yelp" Gaycities.com, he reached out to Queerty owner David Hauslaib (who had previously shuttered gossip blog, Jossip, among others) shortly after the site announced it was closing down. Following several days of negotiations, the two reached an agreement and after a few tweaks to the design, the site returns today under the guidance of Chris Bull, an editor who's been working at GayCities. Gatz says that Bull will continue to work with some of the writers who were putting the queer in Queerty before it went offline. Thank God, because we were getting sick of finding our beefcake photos for ourselves.
