Above is a real coupon for the Florida-based computer company CP Distributors. Yep, that's pedobear—the cuddly meme that makes fun of pedophiles. CP, of course, is short-hand for "child porn." Haw haw, a funny prank by a graphic designer.

Unfortunately for this designer, one of the guys who own CP Distributors is a sex offender who was convicted of sexually assaulting a kid back in 1991, reports The Smoking Gun . Needless to say, when customers started complaining about pedobear CP Distributors were quite concerned! (Dude should google "CP," too.)

America's Favorite Coupon Book, which designed and published the coupon in one of its books, claims that the designer is a 40 year-old woman who just happened to come across the Pedobear image on Google and coincidentally used it CP Distributor's coupon without knowing of its memeness. Yeah right. Either way, this incident will certainly contribute to the misconception among many in the offline public that Pedobear is some sort of mascot for pedophiles instead of a dumb Internet joke. Pedobear will always be tainted!
