Hillary Clinton's chief spokesman P.J. Crowley has resigned abruptly after a blogger quoted him candidly criticizing the "mistreatment" of alleged Wikileaks whistleblower Bradley Manning as "ridiculous and counterproductive and stupid." This evidently pissed off the White House because it let Jake Tapper ask Obama an embarrassing question about Manning at a press conference. Crowley is out amid "pressure from White House officials because of controversial comments he made last week about the Bradley Manning case," according to CNN.

Now P.J. Crowley will become a blogger at Fire Dog Lake or something.
