Staten Island resident Annette Gerhardt thought she was being sooo clever: She planned to scare her 6-year-old daughter Enayla straight after she'd acted out in school by bring her down to the police station and telling her "this is where bad girls and boys go." But the police were not in the mood. From the Daily News:

Gerhardt said after she escorted her daughter inside and asked an officer to "play along" with the gag, the cop gave her a perplexed look.

Gerhardt then covered her daughter's ears and explained why she was there. Instead of dealing with Gerhardt's girl, the officer brought the young mom into a private room and reprimanded her.

"She told me that I was an unfit mother," Gerhardt said. "I sat there with tears in my eyes.

Then Gerhardt was arrested. Whoops! But the most important thing: What kind of lesson did little Enayla learn from all this? Something about the chaotic nature of life, probably. It's never too early for that one.
