For all you literary gamers out there, two tech-savvy literary nerds have created an 8-bit video game version of F. Scott Fitzgerald's great American novel The Great Gatsby get ready to waste your entire afternoon.

Like the Nintendo games of yore, this is a two-dimensional platform game where you use your keyboard to control Nick Carraway, the novel's hero, as he winds his way through Gatsby's party, the train out to East Egg, and other challenges I'm not yet adept enough to discover. On the way you collect coins, cocktails, and cute outfits while throwing money at butlers, flappers, and drunkards. I wonder if you get to beat the shit out of Daisy Buchanan to defeat the game. Give me a few days of wasting time on this and I'll let you know. [NYO]
