Because of you people and your endless legislative demands — gays in the military this, tax cuts that — President Obama may have to delay his Hawaiian vacation a few days so he can sign all this stuff. Happy, America?

Of course he could just sign all of these bills from his (rented) Hawaiian palace. Why would he, or anyone, ever stay in Washington longer than necessary?

A more political reason is that Obama has declared the bills Congress is considering - such as the ones that would repeal "don't ask, don't tell," the tax agreement and a nuclear weapons treaty with Russia known as New START - as major priorities for his administration. It would undercut that message if he were in shorts playing golf as Congress debated any of those issues.

Yeah, pretty much. But people will still find a way to complain about his focus and priorities! Otherwise there'd be nothing to blog about.
