Over 100 people have died in several volcanic eruptions in Indonesia since late last month, with another large eruption on Mount Merapi last night. A pyroclastic flow of 1,400 degree gas was moving at 60 mph through one village.

Mount Merapi has been erupting since October 26 and shows no signs of letting up. The scene from one village near the crater, according to the AP:

Soldiers joined overnight rescue operations in Bronggang, 9 miles from the mouth of the crater, pulling corpses from smoldering homes and streets blanketed by ash 3 inches deep, then piling them into the backs of trucks.

Dozens of injured - clothes, blankets and even mattresses fused to their skin by the 1,400 degree Fahrenheit gas clouds - were carried away on stretchers.
