Halloween was not without its casualties: The NYDN reports that a "marauding clown" at the Greenwich Village Halloween Parade broke reporter Arthur Chi'en's face in six places when the clown scaled Chi'en's float, then knocked the newsman off of it.

Chi'en, who is an Emmy-winning reporter for New York's WPIX Channel 11, is scheduled for reconstructive surgery today. The clown apparently climbed the float and grabbed Chi'en's arm, causing both to fall to the ground. The honky-nosed hooligan got up and ran away; Chi'en ended up "semi-conscious" with a messed up face. What a jerk that clown was. [NYDN]
