Cancer Faker to Plead Guilty to Fraud
Canadian cancer scam artist Ashley Kirilow has been charged with seven counts of fraud for raising $20,000 for her fake cancer charity, and nabbing free trips to Disneyland with her elaborate cancer lie.
Kirilow—who waxed her head to fake the effects of chemotherapy and now says she is bipolar—surrendered herself to police in August. What had started as a "sympathy grift" spiraled into a lucrative charity fraud that have now earned Ashley six criminal charges for "fraud under $5000" (maximum penalty: two years in prison) and one for "fraud over $5000" (maximum penalty: 14 years in prison). The 23-year-old is expected to plead guilty to all charges in court tomorrow. [Star via MotherChucker]
